FinallyPosted by Paula White - Fri, January 16, 2009 at 03:19 AM Well…here we are—Happy 2009, everybody! I am so excited about what I believe is in store for us this year. Looking around at everything that happened in 2008, “the year of new beginnings” seemed to end up “the year of total madness!” On the surface, in 2008, everything just seemed to bust wide open at the seams. Economic meltdown, housing crisis, family and job stress…even tumultuous changes in the church… But the chaos of ’08 was the precursor—the beginning—of God’s moving us into the place of destiny. The ‘madness’ was part of the process…part of the set-up… Because, no matter what it looks like in the natural, God is ALWAYS IN CONTROL of what is going on…and if He has ordained and decreed something for us, that settles it—His Word is final! What God has decreed for you is yours! I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. And finally—with all of our preconceived notions about “how things are supposed to be” swept away by the process of ’08… the way has been cleared for us to step into our place of ultimate transformation in 2009… Because in 2009, we step into ‘the year of the Spirit!’ The year of the Spirit. Also, “the year of the Spirit” will be about moving into “the high place”—which is where you end up when ‘transition’ and ‘trouble’ meet…if you’re paying close attention to, and moving with, the flow of things in God’s Spirit. You must either sink—or swim (or, even doggie paddle, if need be!)—and if you’re in the Spirit, you will swim …keeping your head up high! It will be this “swimming in/with the Spirit” attitude that you will need in ’09. Where others might give up, this kind of perseverance—along with a willingness to wait out the process—will also prove to be key in ’09. That’s what the ‘year of the Spirit’ is going to be about. Finding your highest place. The place where God’s Spirit takes you, even amongst the madness. It’s going to be a totally new, and totally unknown place… But once you’re finally in that place…that high point…your greatest potential will be revealed! It will take you into a level you’ve never experienced…and from which there will be no turning back… So get ready, guys…because in 2009, we’re taking off into a newer, higher place…a place that’s going to demand ultimate trust in God’s plan…and is going to reveal your ultimate destiny. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” So…are you ready for the year of the Spirit?
