I hope you had a chance to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with family and friends. As we enjoy fun outdoor activities this summer, let’s remember to reflect on the greatness of our nation and how blessed we truly are to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. My thoughts and prayers turned this week, as they often do, toward the brave men and women who are serving our country. May God bless them and keep them safe.

July is going to be an exciting month of ministry activity. On the 13th, we’ll be in San Antonio for Life By Design at The Epicenter.

As I write this, I realize that I have not yet shared with you any details about the exhilarating new ministry concept we call The Epicenter. Our very first Epicenter is in San Antonio and it’s a model for others we hope to spearhead in other cities across the nation. The Epicenter: A Place for Life is a God-centered ministry where His presence is preeminent and all individuals are invited to participate. It’s unique because it includes several different ministries coming together as one. Together, these ministries offer hope and acceptance to all people.

I believe it’s time for a new ministry model—a multicultural center that embraces diversity of ministry and is focused on enriching and empowering all aspects of participants’ lives—-while teaching people how to discover and embrace God’s unique plan and purpose for their lives.

The Epicenter welcomes visitors from all parts of the country. Please make plans to join us at one of the many Epicenter events as you schedule your summer vacation.

Also this month, I will be joining minister-songwriter Pastor Shirley Caesar at the Winstom-Salem Civic Center for her annual conference on July 18. And I’ll be with Bishop Noel Jones at the City of Refuge in Gardena, Calif. on July 24-25.

I’m updating my blog more often now—-and I promise to share more about these events, the Epicenter and my activities in the days to come.
