Do not despise small beginnings. God will take what is left and restore. Restore = to build up again, to repair, to renew I. Identify the Problem Nehemiah 1:3 (NIV) They said to me, “Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.” b. The restoration period (from 536-420BC) follows the period of exile for God’s people II. Nehemiah Chapter 1 has 3 Elements Remember this principle for this study… Proverbs 25:28 Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control. III. God is Going to Heal Every Place You Have Been Hurt Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Arise = come into our being Declared by the Spirit of God…. I am restored, “BACK AGAIN” Nehemiah 2:17-20 Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.
