Missions in Africa
Paula White Ministries cares for hundreds of children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic. Everyday we are making a difference in the Children’s Village of Makhulong, where our missionary Michelle Smith is stationed full time. With AIDS at crisis levels in South Africa, every day a thousand people die, leaving behind countless tiny victims. Children are on their own, roaming the streets and struggling to find food and water, hoping to survive another day. Makhulong is Sesotho African language for “place of everything,” and the Children’s Village is creating a hope and future for orphaned children, on a farm environment where homes, school, loving foster parents and teachers create an atmosphere of hope for every child to thrive! On a campus of nearly 2,000 acres, loving homes supplied to each child, with nutritional food, schooling, and a Christian environment where every child is given the opportunity to embrace their future.
Paula White Ministries also recently purchased and provided a much needed van and generator to the ministry of gospel singer Vicky Yohe for the New Destiny for Children orphanage in Jinja, Uganda. Says Yohe: “The need is great, with nearly 1.5 million homeless and parentless children…Our vision is not for a dusty dwelling to simply house homeless children, but rather we will build a haven of refuge for these young people.” Through initiatives like these, your support of PWM is carrying out God’s great commission of evangelism and restoration to these innocent children, orphaned by generations of war, poverty, and disease.
Myrna Paprocky in Africa
Paula White Ministries also supports missionaries Don and Myrna Paprocky in their work in South Africa, as they travel throughout the region providing feeding and clothing programs and the good news of Jesus Christ. During the fall/holiday season months Don and Myrna fed over 15,000 people with around 4 tons of donated food. Don described some of the most heart-wrenching moments of their evangelistic outreach: “I was literally brought to tears when I saw children where the oldest child was taking care of the rest of the children, with no parent or relative to help them. What also touched me is that even though we gave many things to the orphans – food parcels, two meals, clothing, shoes, toys…what many of them thanked me for was the hope they got from the Word I preached.” Paula White Ministries enables missionaries like the Paprockys to deliver the message of God’s hope along with the daily practical needs of children all over the globe.
