August 12, 2008Posted by Paula White - Tue, August 12, 2008 at 03:02 AM FAITH IN ACTION The most important part of my day is Bible study and spending time with God. Every morning without fail, I spend time in the word for guidance, inspiration and direction for the day. If you don’t have a daily time of prayer and Bible study I encourage you to make that a part of your day. As important as Bible study is, it’s equally as important for us to “be” God’s word extended to the world around us. That’s what I’ve seen these past days, as I went from hugging children at San Antonio’s Back-to-School Bash, to similar events in the Appalachian hills of North Carolina, and then to Harlem. There is so much need right here in our own back yards. Sometimes as we go about our daily lives with jobs, homes and enough food on the table, it’s hard to get hold of the fact that there are kids in our own country whose parents simply can not afford to buy them school supplies. However, at our recent Back to School Bashes my heart broke as I hugged those children and encouraged their parents because I can remember the day when I didn’t have enough food to feed my son and had to eat week old bread. That is a painful experience as a parent. That is why today I am so grateful that God has allowed me the privilege to head up a ministry that assists families in need. Thanks to Paula White Ministries’ partners, we have been able to help thousands of children and families this month with school supplies, sneakers and food for a week. Preparing children to go back to school with dignity and a reason to smile—where they can get an education to help propel them out of poverty and into the life God designed for them - is truly His work. The joy I felt at being able to help children this week was a tangible reminder that giving benefits the giver more than the recipient. “And remember the words of the Lord Jesus…He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’” (Acts 20:35). You know our ministry mission statement is to transform lives, heal hearts and win souls and with the help of my friends and partners, that is exactly what we were able to do this month through our back-to-school events. Thank you again to all of those who helped make it possible! You will never know the impact of your giving until you get to heaven. But there is so much more need out there and so much more to do. This fall I am bringing the precious gift of God’s work to people in the Caribbean and in South Africa. Your continued prayers and support are vital and make these important outreach activities possible. Thank you to all my ministry partners for your open hearts and generosity. I know the work we do together honors and pleases God because we are feeding the hungry and clothing the naked…and truly doing it unto the least of these as His word commands. It has been a tough year for me, personally, and it feels so good to be actively ministering in all corners of the globe. To do what I love to do—which is reach out to the lost and hurting with God’s Word. This past Sunday I was in Tampa for another Life By Design evening, and had a chance to greet old friends and ministry supporters. It was an awesome evening and I was overwhelmed with the response. But more about that next time. Thank you for standing with Paula White Ministries and allowing us the privilege of reaching out to the lost and hurting. Love, Paula Share This!
