AFFIRMING LIFE THROUGH LOVE & PERSEVERANCE

It’s with a full heart that I sit down to write today.

The sound of children’s laughter filled the San Antonio Municipal Auditorium grounds this past weekend, as thousands came to our first Back to School Bash of the season. I love the sound of happy children, and they were so excited to get their backpacks full of school supplies, sneakers and haircuts. Not to mention the icy fruit flavored popsicles that brought a smile to children young and old!

Thanks to all of you who helped Paula White Ministries provide back-to-school physicals for many children, and a week’s food for many families. I know that in these tough economic times there is a lot of competition for any extra funds and the kids so appreciate your generosity. I wish every one who gave could be there with us to see the smile on the children’s faces and the tears in the eyes of their moms and dads.

If you haven’t given and you’d like to help equip needy children go back to school with dignity and a reason to smile, you still can: we have Back to School Bashes yet to come in Harlem and Appalachia North Carolina. I hope you will find it in your heart to help with this important mission.

This was also our Life By Design Weekend in San Antonio and we were all blessed to have the talented and beautiful CeCe Winans open Friday night. Her music ministry is not only award-winning but truly heart felt. No one sings praise unto the Lord quite like my friend, CeCe.

Can an evangelist be both funny and spiritually challenging? If he is Jesse Duplantis, he can! Our audience who attended Saturday night’s session can vouch for his ability to teach incredible biblical life lessons and still make us laugh. Sometimes at ourselves! I love Dr. Duplantis’ style and so did everyone who attended! All in all, a wonderful weekend of teaching, praise and worship and truly being Jesus’ hand extended.

I am also getting ready to make a big announcement—and I’ll preview it with you: I am bringing Life by Design back to Tampa—every month, starting this Sunday, August 10 at 6pm at Without Walls International Church! And to kick off my return, I’ll have a meet-and-greet after the Sunday night service. I look forward to reconnecting with all of my Tampa friends and ministry supporters.

I recorded the audio reading of my new book, coming out this fall, Move On, Move Up, and the chapter on gaining strength through perseverance really seemed to impact even the studio engineer. As I say in the book, no one develops great strength or enduring power without coming against problems and pain, and outlasting them. You must persevere—whether you’ve been laid off and are currently without a job, whether you are having challenges with a relationship or problems with a child, whether your spouse is sick or you are facing home foreclosure…no matter what the challenge you may be currently facing.

As I have learned so well in my own life, perseverance is not an option—it is a necessity if you are going to live an authentic, purposeful and fulfilling life. It’s a key ingredient to moving on and up and in reality perseverance is simply….doing whatever it takes to finish strong! Don’t give up!

I’ll be blogging more about this in the future, but I want to leave you with this thought. Regardless of what you may be going through be assured that you are doing just that…”going through” and you will come out on the other side, stronger, more confident, more full of faith and sure of God’s faithfulness toward you than ever before!
