Nehemiah 3: 1-2 1Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they built the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel. 2And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri. Verse 4 … “and next” to them repaired Verse 5 … “and next” to them Verse 7 … “and” next to them repaired (all the way through verse 32/end of chapter) I. There are 2 Recurring Words/Themes in Chapter 3 II. God is a God of ORDER III. According to Ps. 133:3 “For there (in unity) the Lord commands the blessing…(even life for evermore) IV. The Power of “Next” Example: If you desire: Good marriage In Nehemiah Chapter 3 The walls were rebuilt by the co-operation of ALL those who had a love of ALL those who had a love for &devotion to their city: people I Cor12:4-7 • When you are close=you have contact…that is where impartation occurs. Proverbs 13:20 He that walks with wise men shall be wise. But a companion of fools shall be destroyed. 2. Yad= an open hand for the purpose of means, direction, resources & power. Here is the secret to the strategy of Nehemiah: Example: the genealogy of Christ. (Christ being the 42nd generation) 1. Nehemiah starts rebuilding on the North Wall at the Sheep Gate Building began with Eliashib (the High Priest Everything will being & end with the High Priest (Jesus) Note: There were NO LOCKS or BARS on this gate- Why? 1. Because the mercy of God is ALWAYS & ever available to us. 2. The Fish Gate=was the next to be repaired. 3. The Old Gate =West Wall 4. The Valley Gate (South Wall) 5. The Dung Gate (South) Repaired by: 6. The Fountain Gate That’s enough for now. There are 6 more gates You BELONG to something significant “LET US RISE & BUILD”
