Psalms 34:1 “I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

Your Praise is an invitation for his presence.
It is the door for Him to come in and take you out from ruins to “restoration”.

I. God is Building a Church That He Has…
a. Ordained
b. Ordered
c. Chosen
d. Desired

II. A Place and a People with His…
a. Presence
b. Power
c. Purpose
i. God is looking for a resting place
1. Found in Zion

Psalms 132:9-14 9Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.  10For thy servant David’s sake turn not away the face of thine anointed. 11The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. 12If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.  13For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. 14This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

III. Everything That Took Place in Old Covenant, Took Place in 1 of 3 Places
a. The Land (Israel) or (The Body)
b. The City (Jerusalem) or (The Soul)
c. The Temple (Zion) or (The Spirit)

Exodus 25:8 “And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them”

IV. This Principle is Clear That God Comes to Dwell with Man (to tabernacle)
a. Dwell (lodging) means to reside or permanently stay

This is the “heart throb” of God. The question then becomes,
“Is there room in your house (or temple) for God?”

1 Corinthians 6:19 “Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

V. We Are Living in a Time Like the Days of Nehemiah
a. The Temple was restored, so is it now (or)
b. The Spirit (the center of worship in a man) was “rebuilt”

VI. God is Looking For a Resting Place
a. He takes pleasure in your house when He finds you “praising” and “worshipping” Him and denoting His worthiness
i. He says, “I’ll rest here awhile. I’ve been looking for a house like this.”
b. To be a people of Zion
i. We have to be a people of “praise”
- Respond to God for what He has done
ii. “Worship” centers on “who” God is

VII. God is Raising Up a Davidic Generation
a. a faithful priest
b. a man after God’s own heart
c. sweet psalmist
i. The procedure was necessary (David’s soul had to “die”)
ii. So that the mandate of God could be fulfilled

1 Samuel 2:35 “And I will raise me up a faithful priest that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.”

1 Peter 2:9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light”

Like David, this “emerging priesthood” reveals a totally new concept of abiding in God’s presence

VIII. They Are Breaking Roles of Tradition, Rules and Regulations
a. Not from Leviticus priesthood
b. Not considered “ministry material”
c. Surrounded by “miss-fits”
d. Always “messing up” in the eyes of man

IX. Let’s Bring it Down To “Us”
a. You are not your average “Joe”
b. You are distinct and different
c. You weren’t raised in church but, you love God
d. You have been through hurt and heartache
e. You don’t fit the mold (neither did Jesus, that is the mold)
i. Yet, you are called by God!!!

You don’t push to change the rules of religion….. You want “relationship”

X.  You are a “David”!
a. David knew and loved God with ALL of his heart
i. Real ministry is the out flowing of the indwelling Christ
ii. It flows from the “heart” not the head

Psalms 24:3 “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD?  Who shall stand in his holy place?”

It’s a “heart” issue….

Psalms 51:6 “Behold, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart.”

XI. It’s a “Heart Issue”
a. We will police visible sins but have invisible sins of the heart
b. God wants us to clean the filthiness of our spirit
i. Like David, God will deal with your heart

XII. 5 Laws of Praise

1. The Principle of Praise
a. The basis is not emotion, but “devotion”
i. Devotion= to give ones self wholly

2. The Priority of Praise
a. Praise always goes 1st (Judges 1:1-4)
b. First (opening) = being in position to permit passage (or) the first opens the way for the rest

3. Praise Precedes Revelation (Revelation 5:1-5)
a. “Prevailed” means to subdue or conquer (succeed)
b. “Seals” are a mark for security or preservation.

4. Praise Directs Us to Provision
a. (Genesis 49:1-12)

5.  The Practice of Praise is “Celebration”
a. Halal (Hebrew=Hallelujah or praise “Yah”)
b. Yadah (means to acknowledge in public)
i. Telling others what God has done (Psalms 138:1)
c. Barak (to bless or to throw out the hands)
d. Zamar (a musical verb for praise)
e. Shabbach (to speak well of in a high benefiting way
f. Towdah= (thanksgiving (or) hand extended in adoration)
g. Tehillah (to sing)
h. Ruah (to shout in joy)

Praise means “Party Time”!!!

XIII. Noticed About David
a. Borders were extended in an unprecedented expansion on every side
b. Praise always produces increase
c. What you appreciate, appreciates
