Mark 14:3-9 “3And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.  4And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? 5For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
6And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.  7For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.
8She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.  9Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.”

Exodus 25:8-9 “8 “Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them. 9 Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.”

I. God Comes to Dwell With Man
a. He wants to live in you (Psalms 132:9-14)
i. God is looking for a resting place which is found in Zion
ii. The book of Isaiah presents Zion as a “place”
1. This is the Most Holy Place in Moses Tabernacle (or) Psalms 91:1 “1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
2. Zion is a people

God takes pleasure and deeply desires a “temple” or a “spirit” (a Zion) to rest in…

1 Corinthians 6:19 “Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”

II. The Question Becomes, “Is Your House Ready for His Habitation?”
a. Is there “room” in your house (your temple)?
b. What occupies your life (or) or heart?
i. Follow the trail of your time… and you will then find who (or) what is sitting on the throne of your life (or) heart)
1. your affection
2. your energy
3. your loyalty
4. your thoughts
5. your dreams
6. your priorities

III. What You Worship is What You Value
a. Worship= comes from (Anglo-Saxon)= “weorthsype”
i. “weorth” means worth, value or respect
ii. “sype” means to shape or to build something
b. Every aspect of your being should frame the worth, value and respect due to His person
c. Worship is your response to what you value the most
d. Our actions speak louder then words

Psalms 96:4-5 “4For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. 5 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.”

IV. It is Essential Not To Devote Your Life To and Idol and Waste Your Worship on Something That Ultimately Will Not Work For You
a. Modern Times
i. Statues
ii. Greek goddess
iii. Little men with round bellies
b. An “Idol” is anything (or anyone) you yield your strength to and worship
i. By paying too much attention to it
ii. Dedicating your life to impress them
iii. Living for it (or that person) and depending it (or that person) for life

Exodus 20:3-5 “3 “You shall have no other gods before [a] me.  4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me”

Don’t Waste Your Worship.
Whatever you value the most will ultimately determine who you are.

Matthew 21:13 “13And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.”

V. “House” = a place to dwell
a. You cant wait to get to “church” because of something you are not at home
b. You cant be one way all the way to church, slide through the front door, “jump” into your “prayer mantle”, posture for worship and expect to be powerful
i. This is called “phony” not powerful
c. Your house of worship and prayer starts in your spirit

1 Peter 2:5 “5Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”

If you have a house of prayer and worship in you, it will effect the atmosphere around you

VI. Sweep The House
a. Watch the conduct you allow
b. Watch the people you allow in your house
c. Watch the things you allow in your house

Hosea 4:17-19 “17Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.18Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.19The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.”

2 Corinthians 7:1 “1Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
Consecration is more then a prayer (or) worship routine, it’s a matter of the heart

VII. We Create the Atmosphere That We Desire
a. Woman with the alabaster box (Mary)
i. When the box broke- the fragrance filled the room and changed the atmosphere
ii. She entered an environment that was not inviting, yet she was compelled to keep walking

The force of your personal passion will provide you the power to walk through anything that tries to hold you back

iii. Her adoration for Jesus compelled her to risk the taunts of the people around Him
1. Who were “they” to reject her? You have to ask yourself in regards to the detractors of your destiny… “Who are you?”
2. How easy we forget our own weaknesses when we start looking at someone else’s

Matthew 7:3 “3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”

3. Although she was in an un-accepting environment, as soon as she recognized the “presence of God” they (the people) didn’t matter…. Only Jesus did!!
4. Jesus healed, restored and saved her
5. She had not come to ask Him anything
6. She simply wanted to say, “Thank You” and to “worship” Him
iv. How could those men take for granted His awesome presence?
1. Mary begins to worship Him in Holy Abandonment
2. She broke down and began to weep
a. A type of cry that only come from a heart that has been through too much to talk about
b. Her tears spoke of what her lips could not

VIII. Real Worship
a. It strips away the pretense and reveals our need for the Lord
i. Mary laid at Jesus’ feet and remembered where she had come from
b. It’s the outpouring of a soul at rest in the presence of God

Ephesians 1:6 “6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”

c. It’s the overflow of a grateful heart under a sense of divine favor

Psalms 45:1 “1My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.”

d. It’s the occupation of the heart with God Himself

Psalms 91:1 “1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

IX. How Much Would You Pay to be at His Feet, Mary?
a. Doesn’t matter what you have but what you are willing to “give”
i. Alabaster Box was equal to 1 years salary (wage)
ii. Her life savings or treasure

X. True Worship is Born When True Sacrifice Occurs
a. You will never be anointed until you personally experience a situation that calls you to lay aside what you call “valuable”
b. It’s what you lay at the altar that seasons you to be a true worshipper
c. You have the ability to make a difference
i. If you humble yourself under the Mighty hand of God
ii. If you give Him what you feel without regard to people
