Paula White Ministries was recently able to donate a large supply of brand new yarn, knitting needles and crochet hooks to Crocheting Hearts Ministries, an organization that makes blankets for children battling cancer.
The organization was started by Michele Brodin, whose son was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 5 mos. “While in the hospital a nurse gave him a quilt; to this day he still loves his blankets, and he’s 13 years old! In June 2005 I started crocheting blankets to donate to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT. I thought that I was just going to get rid of my ‘extra yarn,’ but God had other plans! In just over a year we have donated over 400 blankets and there is no end in sight.” PWM had received the donated material from a friend of the ministry, and soon after found out about Crocheting Hearts – a true example of God’s timing at work! “The donation came at a perfect time, and it’s a huge blessing,” said Michelle. “Any donated yarn we use must be new, since our children are battling illness. The yarn we received from PWM was all brand new, still in its packages, and we will definitely be able to make use of it!” Brodin says up to twenty new blankets will be made for hospitalized children. Thanks to you, friends of Paula White Ministries, for sharing God’s love! |
