Where there is no vision, the people perish...
—Proverbs 29:18
Once you commit to moving your focus from your current circumstances to focusing on what God says, the next thing you must do is have a clear vision of the promise. You have to see the promise in order to receive it. You can’t have it unless you can see it.
Think you want to move from that minimum hourly wage position to a higher rate of pay? Looking to move out the clerical cubicle to capture that middle-management office? Fed-up with working for someone else, and want to start your own business?
Trying to plan for home ownership – or save to send your kids off to college?
If you want to change your prosperity position, and move into possession of your promise, you need to close your eyes, pray to God…and start asking Him to give you a vision of that promise – what it looks like to Him, so that He can bless it, and begin to help you possess it.
Vision produces the desire to move forward. It is the prophetic utterance, the voice of God. Proverbs 29:18 declares that without vision, the people perish. Your soul dies without the vision of God.
Having made known unto us as the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself.

The power to change comes when hidden things are made manifest – known -- to you. God gives you the power to change. He gives you the power to move forward and to be released from the bondage of your past. He gives you the revelation you need to change and He gives you the ability to change. He makes known to you His will and His purpose in your life.
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will…
— — Ephesians 1:11-12.
You might think you know what you want, in a vague way; you might have general ideas about what you want: “I need to make more money”; “I wish my supervisor treated me better”; “I want more creative freedom in my work.” But you’ll need more than that – you’re going to need a spiritual intervention, in order to get a glimpse of what the greater future might hold for you. You’ll need the kind of prophetic vision only God can give you, to step out of your current position, and move into your future promise.
Isaiah 46:10 talks about vision, saying that God will make known the end from the beginning. When you ask God to give you a vision of your future, He will give you a glimpse of it, so that you can see it, and begin to take steps to possess it.
Remember: Before you can take possession of the promise, you must have this vision. You must see it, to receive…and once you see it, you will become pregnant with the seed of its promise…and begin to nurture that seed, in order to finally birth it.
