Paula White Ministries supports the efforts of the LA Dream Center, as it transforms struggling communities in East Los Angeles through God’s Word, housing and shelter, feeding outreaches, child and family support, and more.
LA Dream Center
Recent research estimates that up to 80, 000 homeless people sleep on the streets, in shelters, or elsewhere in Los Angeles each night; one in six families is living below the poverty line. Amidst the poverty, drug addiction, homelessness, and neglect, The Dream Center reaches more than 30,000 men, women, and children weekly through the church’s 40 services and nearly two hundred ministries and outreaches.
Angelus Temple
Opening in 1994 with 39 members -- located in the midst of the crime, violence, drugs, and abuse of gang-run neighborhoods -- through the efforts of Senior Pastor Matthew Barnett and hundreds of volunteers and ministry members, the Dream Center has become a thriving refuge of hope and salvation for tens of thousands through God’s Word and the loving Spirit of Christ.

Through its Discipleship programs for adults and teens, the Dream Center houses close to 500 people in an intensive, one-year, live-in, work-discipline program. Participants are assisted in drug and alcohol recovery, spiritual-based counseling for emotional challenges, and take part in Biblically based-programs that offer accountability structures, while nurturing leadership and decision-making skills.
Dream Center Clothing Bank
Through its 40-coach Bus Ministry, Adopt A Block Ministry, and Metro Kidz Ministry, the Dream Center travels into the heart of East LA, touching over 2000 kids and families weekly as they struggle to survive within the constant claws of poverty, active gang recruitment, and despair. Elderly people and shut-ins are fed and cared for; streets and homes are cleaned, “movie nights and princess parties” are held for homeless children.
Dream Center feeding the homeless
The Community Youth Outreach Center offers after-school programs, counseling, tutoring, a computer lab, sports programs and video games, so that the thousands of at-risk youth in the area are provided with safe alternatives to the rampant violence and crime of their neighborhoods. Dream Center personnel work side-by-side with parents to provide options, plans, and choices for their children’s future. For more information, visit www.dreamcenter.org
