Paula White Ministries supports the efforts of missionaries Don and Myrna Paprocky and Glory Power Ministries as they bring help to orphans, widows, refugees and the poor in South Africa.
In March of 2005, when Don and Myrna heard of the millions of people, including a multitude of orphaned children, suffering from the extreme poverty and rampant AIDS in South Africa, they were led by the Holy Spirit to establish Glory Power Ministries. They relocated to the region, intent on bringing God’s love in both spiritual and material ways – sharing the Gospel of salvation through Christ, while beginning to meet the daily, physical survival needs of the population.
Presently headquartered in the town of Giyani, a town in the Limpopo province (the poorest in South Africa), Don and Myrna were told that they are the first full-time missionaries in the area in over 30 years. Unemployment ranges from 60-98% in the hundreds of surrounding villages, and the Limpopo province has also become home to thousands of refuges fleeing starvation from neighboring Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Through the support of Paula White Ministries, Glory Power Ministries has touched tens of thousands of lives in the region. Through their two Glory Power Centers and a variety of outreaches, programs, and mass evangelizing services in the region, Glory Power Ministries’ impact for God in the region include:
- giving food (to last for a month) to 38,000 hungry and desperate orphans, widows, refugees, and destitute
- leading 7,600 people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ
- giving clothes, shoes, toiletries, blankets, etc. to 8,000 destitute
- distributing 2,600 Bibles to the poor and desperate who had none
Glory Power has also initiated another great stride forward in the region, bringing racial reconciliation to the former apartheid-run (racially segregated) nation. Says Don on their website: “Our white friends in South Africa have really stepped up to help run the Centers… They also said that after watching the operation of our Centers this year, they plan to start similar community projects. God is good! This has been another one of our goals, to bring the many wonderful whites and blacks together for healing from the apartheid past.”
Paula White Ministries is proud to stand with Don, Myrna, and Glory Power Ministries as they help transform lives, heal hearts, and win souls in South Africa! Thank you, Partners and friends, for making it happen!
