PWM Supports "Susan G. Komen for the Cure" for Breast Cancer

Monday, May 21, 2007

Recently PWM donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, educate and empower people, ensure quality care for breast cancer patients, and energize the medical field’s search for a cure.

The organization was founded by Nancy G. Brinker, who created the movement to fulfill a promise made to her dying sister Susan Komen before she succumbed to breast cancer over twenty-five years ago. The organization’s “Komen Race for the Cure” is the most successful fundraising and education event for breast cancer ever created; Komen Affiliates serves the needs of more than 18,000 communities; and the organization has developed educational tools to reach people in more than 200 countries. It is the world’s largest source of private funds for breast cancer research and community outreach programs. Paula White Ministries, with the support of Partners and friends, continues its commitment to medical research and development through initiatives such as these.
