Paula White Ministries Partners with MTM Global to Change Lives in AngolaMonday, November 10, 2008 Paula White Ministries helps support Dr. Patricia Bailey-Jones and MTM Global’s Angola Outreach, touching the lives of thousands of poverty-stricken and illiterate children in the Sub-Saharan African nation. Paula White Ministries is proud to stand with the vision of Dr. Patricia Bailey-Jones, Master’s Touch Ministries (MTM) Global, and its training program, GLTC (Global Leadership Training Center), in its mission to foster literacy in Angola, a Sub-Saharan African nation wracked with widespread poverty, disease, governmental neglect, and illiteracy. MTM Global’s recent project recap explained some of the steps the organization is taking, with the support of partners like PWM, to combat the wide-spread illiteracy that is a major stumbling block to the nation of Angola – where life expectancy is 44 years, almost one-third of the children die before the age of 5, and over half the country’s population is under 15 years of age. “[MTM Global] has inherited a school of 5000 in Boa Vista (a shantytown outside of the nation’s capital of Luanda, and one of the poorest and most overcrowded slums that surround the city center) where we plan to teach basic education and vocation-based subjects. Manuel Domingos, a GLTC graduate, is currently teaching the school ESL (English as a second language). Maria Ingles, another GLTC graduate, plans to return to Angola to work in the school. GLTC graduates assisted in Angola during this time as well. “We now own 7 ½ acres of land in Caucaco. This will be the site for our school and safe house for young girls being rescued from prostitution.” Of the building project in Angola: “We built a bathroom for the children. Brand new toilets and urinals were installed. It was their first time ever seeing and using toilets!” Of the children: “We are feeding thousands! [MTM Global] fed 5000 children in Angola. The children waited patiently in line for their turn to receive a meal.” MTM Global’s GLTC is a six-month training program to teach its student-leaders the global strategies to help develop nations in the areas of international public health, community development, literacy, and more. The most recent GLTC graduating class included students hailing from Ethiopia, Ghana, Trinida, Burma (Myanmar) and the U.S.; current students are also attending from Sudan, Guiana, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Kenya. Thanks to PWM Covenant Partners and friends, we are reaching out to transform lives, heal hearts, and win souls in partnership with Dr. Patricia Bailey-Jones and MTM Global, as it carries out the words of the Great Commission: And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15, NKJV Thank you, Partners and friends, for making it happen!
